Hardness rating > HRC 61.

This small, extremely sharp knife is very practical.
Originally used for grafting, its use has been extended by Japanese craftsmen to many other detailed tasks. It is particularly popular for carving bamboo when making chasen (whisks for green tea during tea ceremonies), cutting shapes out of paper and leather, model making, basket weaving, marquetry, and more.
