Traditional Japanese grafting knife for left-handed users, with a sharp blade for detailed works, made from AOGAMI steel.

Please note that ‘left-handed’ refers to use with the blade cutting outwards.

Single-edged blade with sharp bevel in hardened steel, hand-forged from AOGAMI steel.

Hardness rating > HRC 61.

Total blade length : 105 mm, width : 24 mm, thickness : 1.5 mm.

Cutting edge length : 8 cm.

Paulownia wood handle, length : 110 mm, width : 34 mm, thickness : 17 mm.

Paulownia wood sheath, length : 120 mm with bevel as a safety feature.

This small, extremely sharp knife is very practical.

Originally used for grafting, its use has been extended by Japanese craftsmen to many other detailed tasks. It is particularly useful for cutting bamboo when making chasen (whisks for green tea during tea ceremonies), cutting shapes out of paper and leather, model making, basket weaving, marquetry, etc.
