Professional Japanese two-handed pruning shears, extremely light and easy to use, from the prestigious MASAMUNE brand, for trimming foliage on topiary.
Model 105, Shirogami (white paper) steel blades, plain black finish.
Very thin blades that easily penetrate vegetation and cut with great precision.
Hammered "leopard" pattern finish on the tang near the handles.
The body of the blades is hollowed out on the inside for greater lightness and flexibility. This groove allows for the removal of pruning debris and sap that tends to get caught between the blades during long jobs. It also allows the blades to twist slightly to reduce friction and optimise cutting. The cutting edges come into contact at the point where they cross, with a sound that speaks volumes about the quality of the cut.
Please note that this model is designed for pruning herbaceous parts (leaves and young stems) only and is not suitable for pruning woody parts (branches). Do not cut branches with these shears as you may damage the cutting edge.
Due to their specific use for pruning (karikomi), there are no stops and the blades can cross freely and smoothly. Caution: always pick up your pruning shears by the handles, never by the blades! You could seriously injure yourself. We recommend that you wear gloves when using or sharpening the shears and store them in their sheath when not in use.
