I have often been criticised for the length of the blades on Nishigaki shears, which some people think are "too short"... So here they are: I offer you the longest blades on the market! 30 cm from axis to tip, including 28.5 cm of incredible cutting edge !
These traditional Japanese two-handed scissors from the prestigious MASAMUNE brand are laminated and hand-forged by Master Takashi YOSHIOKA. Made from YASUKI "Blue Paper" AOGAMI steel with a very high carbon content.
This steel has a Rockwell HRC rating of 63, whereas European blades often have a HRC rating of between 48 and 52...
They are light and strong, with a stopper forged into the blade and 27 cm Japanese white oak handles that are both strong and flexible to absorb the impact of the stoppers (steel against steel). The regular impact, interspersed with the hissing of the blades against each other, creates a beautiful sound when in use...
The body of the blades is hollowed out for greater lightness and flexibility. This allows the blades to twist slightly during cutting to reduce friction and optimise the cut. Above all, this groove allows the removal of cutting residues and sap that tend to get stuck between the blades during long jobs. Only the cutting edges cross with a sound that speaks volumes about the quality of the cut.
Tool weight : 917 g.
Overall length : 64 cm.
Blades : 300 mm, including 28.5 cm cutting edge.
27 cm white oak handles.
Designed for trimming, these shears are intended for cutting young shoots, but you can also use them to cut young branches.
