Traditional Japanese pruning shears made from extremely durable S58C carbon steel by ONOYOSHI.

Hand-forged and polished. Angle A, 230 mm for large hands.

Weight: 350 g. Length: 230 mm. Blades: 68 mm.

S58C hardened steel with moderate carbon content, more resistant to impact, significantly reducing the need for sharpening.

Hardness index (Rockwell): HRC 58 to 60 (European blades are often between 48 and 52).

The blades are hand-polished with a ‘mirror’ finish for a perfect cut, to limit resin adhesion and facilitate cleaning.

Blades and handles forged from a single piece for greater durability.

Dynamic and flexible ‘pine needle’ type spring.

Equipped with a 12mm blade tightening nut.

Steel clasp.

Comes with an extra ‘pine needle’ spring in an attractive black Japanese cardboard box (red interior) covered with ideograms specifying the type and origin on white Japanese Washi paper.

More than 100 steps are required to bring you this tool, from the raw steel bar to the finished, packaged product...

Ideal for all gardening professionals, horticulturists or discerning individuals, these exceptional secateurs are also a magnificent tool.

We offer SA-11 or SA-11T leather cases to keep your tool on your belt.

To avoid leaving it on the ground and losing it, we also offer safety cords to keep your tool attached to its case.

To maintain your pruning tool, we recommend cleaning it after use with a cleaning eraser, then, after rinsing and drying, protecting it from corrosion with camellia oil using an abura tsubo.

Finally, for sharpening, we recommend investing in a #1000 grit whetstone, which is perfect for Japanese steel garden cutlery.

Made in Japan.
