Japanese carbon steel weeding sickle called "Nejiri kama".
Nejiri means "twisted"  : the tang (the steel handle) is twisted (offset on one side) and the blade is twisted to have an angle with the handle.
This configuration allows for more ergonomic use as a weeder.
Ideal for weeding beds, rockeries or vegetable gardens, for controlling invasive perennials and weeding in general or as a scraper...

It is used by pulling the blade to cut the roots below the soil surface like a weed. You can also use the tip for more precise work (joints, edges, roots of herbs in moss, etc.)

Very solid blade and cutting edge due to the high carbon content of the steel. Sharpen as desired.
Forged and heat treated blade. Rockwell hardness index: HRC58.
10cm wide blade.
Total length of the tool 29.5 cm.
Wooden handles 11 cm long and 27 mm in diameter.

Tool weight: 195g.

Made in Japan.
