Japanese two-hands shears "Karikichi" Nishigaki brand

Japanese two-handed shears, model 'Karikichi' by Nishigaki.

The blades are made of high carbon SK-5 steel and are fully cold forged.

SK-5 steel is extremely durable and greatly reduces the need for sharpening.

Hardness rating (Rockwell): HRC 58 (European blades are often between 48 and 52).

The cutting edge of the blades is polished to a mirror finish for a perfect cut, to limit resin adhesion and to make them easier to clean. The rest of the back of the blade has a matt, granular finish.

The body of the blade is not hollow like the N-226, but is designed to twist slightly during cutting to limit friction and optimise the cut. Only the cutting edges cross with a sound that speaks volumes about the quality of the cut.

There are no pads to absorb the shock between the blade stroke limiters (so there is no wear on this part as on the N-226 and no risk of losing the pads).

The long handles, which are slightly thinner than on the N-226, are made of oak. They remain very strong and provide effective leverage when needed.

Weight: 1010 g. Length: 720 mm. Blades: 200 mm.

These shears can cut cleanly through green wood up to 15 mm thick. However, in order to protect the wooden handles, we recommend that you use a pruning shear or heavy-duty pruning shear for cuts thicker than 15 mm.

Fitted with a chrysanthemum flower design blade clamping ring to symbolise longevity...

Ideal for Japanese style pruning enthusiasts, gardening and horticultural professionals. Practical for trimming hedges and topiary (cloud trees, boxwood, azaleas, etc.).

Supplied without leather pouch (plastic pouch only).
