Picking shears (flower picker, fruit picker) on a telescopic pole, model N-129 from the brand Nishigaki.
Extends from 1.90 m retracted to 3.30 m fully extended.
Equipped with two anvils on the pruning shears designed to pinch the plant you want to gently bring towards you.
These two anvils are removable and can be unscrewed if you do not want to bring the cut stems back with you.
They can sometimes get in the way of the cutting angles when pruning and limit the cutting diameter.
Acceptable cutting diameter : 10 to 15 mm maximum.
Note that this tool is also particularly suitable for owners of ponds or pools who want to remove and bring the aerial parts of aquatic plants to the bank.
The pruning shears blades are made of SK-5 steel coated with Teflon to reduce friction and protect against corrosion.
The counter-blade is almost straight, allowing you to work precisely around the stems to be cut.
This tool is also equipped with a small tree saw that screws onto the end of the tool with a wing nut to saw small branches, provided they are not too flexible... (acceptable diameter 5 to 8 cm maximum).
Adjustable in increments of around 2 mm, you can set your tool as you see fit.
Simply unlock the adjustment system by opening a small metal trigger located at the end of the tool, extend the telescopic pole as required, then relock the adjustment system by closing the same trigger. You can then operate the revolver-style handle of the pole pruner to get to work.
This tool is extremely comfortable to use thanks to its ergonomic design and light weight.
The plastic grip located halfway along the pole is fully adjustable without tools (distance from the first handle and 360° rotation).
The revolver handle closes for transport with a simple metal loop that locks the base of the handle into a very small notch. We are a little disappointed with this somewhat fragile closure system. The handle tends to slip out of the loop... and the loop tends to get lost, forcing the owner to replace it with wire. We have reported this to the manufacturer, who uses a much more practical and robust system on other tools.
For sharpening, we recommend using the #320 diamond file.
Regularly oil the pins and blades with camellia oil.
