Japanese weeding sickle made of high carbon steel known as a ‘Nejiri kama’.
For left-handers.
Nejiri means twisted, coiled: the steel handle is twisted (offset to one side) and the blade is coiled to have an ideal angle in relation to the handle.
This configuration allows for more ergonomic use as a weeder.
Ideal for weeding flowerbeds, rockeries or vegetable patches, for controlling invasive perennials and weeding in general, or as a scraper...
It is used by pulling the blade to cut the roots below the surface of the soil like a hand trowel. You can also use the point for more precise work (joints, borders...)
Very strong blade and cutting edge due to the high carbon content of the steel. Can be sharpened as required.
Forged and heat-treated blade. Rockwell hardness rating : HRC58.
Blade 11 cm long. 4 mm thick. 30 mm high.
Total length of tool 26.5 cm.
Length of steel shaft between the handle and the blade : 11.5 cm.
