The Hori Hori is the Japanese knife for all gardening tasks...
It is designed for working in the soil.
Historically used for picking herbs, plants or medicinal roots in the wild.
Introducing the new mini Hori Hori from the new brand Ken Katabami.
A simple knife with a Japanese blade, it can be used as a gouge or weeding knife and is an excellent transplanting tool for small pots or bulbs... The blade is slightly concave so that you can pick up a little material (soil, sand, mortar, etc.).
This tool is also perfect for loosening the soil in flower beds.
Perfect for dividing clumps of perennials, rhizomes or bulbs, it is also handy for removing root balls (cutting open containers, cutting roots, untangling root balls, etc.).
Western gardeners are discovering and loving it.
The second edge has a sharp saw for cutting twine or small branches.
The side of the blade is engraved with a 10cm ruler graduated in centimetres and inches on the concave side. Handy for measuring anything, especially bulbs and their planting depths!
The compact, sturdy 13cm blade is made from 3mm thick 420J2 stainless steel and is naturally corrosion resistant.
The KEN KATABAMI brand ideograms and 'Made in Japan' are engraved on the convex part of the blade.
The blade extends 6cm into the Japanese magnolia wood handle, which is held in place by two rivets.
Please note that this is a knife and not a crowbar... Lever movements with the blade deep in the ground are not recommended as you risk bending your tool!
