Folding Japanese pruning saw with a short, flexible and thin 21 cm blade !
Ideal for arboriculture.
Japanese steel blade, nickel and phosphorus plated to reduce corrosion.
Teeth treated by electric impact for greater hardness and durability.
The main advantage of this saw, apart from its compact size, light weight and thinness, is that it allows the gardener to adjust the angle of the blade relative to the handle using a brass knob.
This can be very useful depending on the surrounding branches...
Once the desired angle has been achieved, the blade is secured with a screw on the shaft, which has a wide notch where a coin, screwdriver or other flat tool can be inserted... (Not your Japanese tool blades, please !)
210mm Japanese style blade. Blade thickness : 0.6 mm.
Tooth depth : 4 mm. 10 teeth per inch.
One tooth out of 10 is offset for easier removal of sawdust.
Blade height : 3.2 cm maximum (1.5 cm at thinnest point).
Interchangeable blades.
To avoid injury, use leather gloves or a cloth when changing blades.
Long, ergonomic 26 cm wooden handle with a notch for storing the folded blade.
(Keep the blade folded and stored in the handle for storage and transport).
The fine teeth on the blade give a smooth finish for better healing. The TENJU brand is particularly well established in AOMORI, a region renowned for its arboriculture.
Please note that this is a Japanese pull-cut blade ; the cutting action is performed by pulling the blade towards you. Gently guide the blade along the cutting line without applying force.
Work slowly and carefully with slow, precise movements and stay focused.
The blade is thin and flexible, so it will bend rather than break if used incorrectly, but we still recommend wearing leather gloves when using it.
Total length when folded : 26 cm.
Total length when fully extended: 49 cm !
Weight of tool: 153 g !
