Should you resharpen or replace a Japanese saw blade ?
A Japanese pruning saw is a tool designed to last. When its teeth begin to lose their cutting efficiency, there are two options: resharpen the teeth or replace the blade.
Sharpening a Japanese saw blade is possible when the geometry and treatment of the teeth allow it. However, it requires considerable precision: each tooth has three angles that must be sharpened individually, while carefully preserving the original cutting geometry.
