Kama, a genuine traditional Japanese hot-forged sickle, composed of a sandwich of steels with a core of chrome steel (type YCS3) ensuring hardness and longevity of the blade (hardness rating HRC62 !).

An incredibly sharp blade for cutting through small branches and small woody plants, brambles or tough grasses, and even splitting bamboo (lengthwise) like a knife. Ideal for forestry work.

Thick blade with a 165 mm double bevel, very slightly curved for a right-handed grip, however, the double bevel allows for ambidextrous use (sickles for left-handed people are very difficult to find).

Can be resharpened as often as you like !

Blade length : 165 mm (cutting edge 140 mm).

Blade height : 40 mm.

Blade thickness : 2 to 3 mm.

Ovoid hardwood handle (red oak or Japanese white oak) 36 cm long with a widened base to prevent slipping.

Handle diameter : 25 to 28 mm.

Tool weight : 350 g.

Please note that this tool is a genuine agricultural tool designed for gathering, mowing, brush cutting and small forestry works. We accept no responsibility for any use other than that for which it is intended (particularly martial arts practice, etc.).

We recommend wearing brush cutting gloves for brush cutting.

Comes with a vinyl case.

Made in Japan.
