Kogatana (kiridashi) for right-handed users, made of Aogami steel, curved handle

Kogatana or Kiridashi. Japanese carbon steel grafting knife (Yasuki Aogami No. 2 blue steel) for right-handed users.

Please note that ‘right-handed’ refers to use with the blade cutting outwards.

If you wish to use this tool for grafting, pulling towards you, please select a model for left-handed users. Thank you for your attention.

The little brother of Japanese sabres, this single-bevel blade, forged raw with a formidable cutting edge, can be used for anything in the garden. Originally used for grafting, this tool can also be used to carve bamboo or wood, sharpen pencils, cut through leather and paper, and cut any type of fabric, felt or rope. Japanese gardeners always have one in their toolkit.

Easy to resharpen when necessary.

Tool length : 19.5 mm.

Tool width : 27 mm.

Blade length : 6 cm.

Blade thickness : 2 mm.

Tool weight : 60 g.

Curved handle for a good grip.

A magnificent tool that forging enthusiasts will appreciate...

To avoid accidental injury, we recommend sticking the blade into a cork when not in use or making a sheath for it between two bamboo blades held together with wire.
