Shuronawa is a traditional cord made from Japanese shuro palm fibre.
It is extremely strong and resistant to rot.
It is black in colour, dyed with traditional ink (soot black). This natural colour will fade outdoors under the effects of the elements within 1–3 years, depending on exposure, returning to its original grey colour.
